WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT CAMP?
ANSWER: A very blessed week!
Spiritually Focused – This family camp is a wonderful week of rest, encouragement, worship & study. We come together twice a day for chapel. The acapella singing in worship is a very uplifting time of praise and it sounds tremendous. There are classes for everyone - Pre-campers, youth, college and adults. In addition, all our teachers do an excellent job of preparing to share God’s word in a very encouraging and relatable way.
A Peaceful Cabin Life – This is the ideal facility and it fits our group perfectly with many cabins ranging in age and size. Each cabin has electricity and has several bunk-beds with quality mattresses. Some bunks are singles, while others have a double mattress on the bottom. You will want to bring sleeping bags or bedding. Larger cabins include a bathroom and shower facilities while the smaller cabins are built near a shower & bath house. A few of the larger cabins have a common area with a refrigerator and kitchenette.
Our Host – Black Hills Retreat Center is secluded near the heart of the Black Hills. The amenities include a dining hall which include 3 meals full buffet meals per day. The Chapel becomes a main area used for worship and to get in out of the weather. In addition the camp features a low-ropes course, climbing wall, zip line, a lake for swimming or fishing, a large field for games, as well as a gaga pit, and volleyball & basketball courts. The surrounding hills offer lots of hiking, scenic views and beautiful starry nights.
WHEN IS THE 2021 CAMP SESSION?
ANSWER: August 1st through the 7th.
Camp 'check-in' is from 3pm to 5pm (MST) in the Dining Hall. Campers should arrive within this time period to get there bunk assignments, settle-in, and meet their fellow campers. Campers will need to then go find their bunk, get unpacked, and get to know their counselors for the week. We technically begin at 5pm Sunday night.
Pick up time will be Saturday morning between 7:30am and 9am. We need to get everyone off the camp premises by 9am so that the campgrounds can prepare for the next camp that will be coming in later.
HOW MUCH IS CAMP THIS YEAR?
Due to the recent change in ownership of the Black Hills Retreat Center, Black Hills Bible Camp will have some changes as well.
BHBC has always used the kitchen at the facility and staffed it ourselves. This will no longer be allowed as the Retreat Center will staff the kitchen and we will be offered a buffet at every meal. This change is not optional. This will allow us more opportunity for time with our campers as there will be no need for cooks, servers or clean up crew. However, this will raise the cost of camp. Although the cost of registration hasn't been finalized, we wanted to give you as much time as possible to plan and save for this increase. An estimate of registration fees are as follows:
Adults Ages (18+): $285.00
Children Ages (6-17): $220.0
Children Ages (0-5): $50.00
Registration for Camp will open May 1st and close when camp is full. Anyone wishing to come to camp needs to register and pay online before the 30th of July. You can pay quickly and easily online, you will be prompted to pay after you’ve completed each registration. Please plan accordingly because last year camp was full and registration was closed by July 25th.
