What should I expect at camp?

ANSWER:  A very blessed week!

Spiritually FocusedThis family camp is a wonderful week of rest, encouragement, worship & study.  We come together twice a day for chapel.  The acapella singing in worship is a very uplifting time of praise and it sounds tremendous. There are classes for everyone - Pre-campers, youth, college and adults. In addition, all our teachers do an excellent job of preparing to share God’s word in a very encouraging and relatable way.

A Peaceful Cabin Life – This is the ideal facility and it fits our group perfectly with many cabins ranging in age and size.  Each cabin has electricity and has several bunk-beds with quality mattresses.  Some bunks are singles, while others have a double mattress on the bottom.  You will want to bring sleeping bags or bedding. Larger cabins include a bathroom and shower facilities while the smaller cabins are built near a shower & bath house. A few of the larger cabins have a common area with a refrigerator and kitchenette.

Our Host – Kamp Kinship is secluded near the heart of the Black Hills. The amenities include a dining hall which our BHBC volunteers serve three delicious meals a day. The Chapel becomes a main area used for worship and to get in out of the weather.  In addition the camp features a low-ropes course, climbing wall, zip line, a lake for swimming or fishing, a large field for games, as well as a gaga pit, and volleyball & basketball courts. The surrounding hills offer lots of hiking, scenic views and beautiful starry nights.

When is the 2018 Camp Session?

ANSWER:  August 5th through the 11th.

Camp 'check-in' is from 3pm to 5pm (MST) in the Dinning Hall.  Campers should arrive within this time period to get there bunk assignments, settle-in, and meet their fellow campers.  Campers will need to then go find their bunk, get unpacked, and get to know their counselors for the week.  We technically begin at 5pm Sunday night. 

Pick up time will be Saturday morning between 7am and 8am.  We need to get everyone off the camp premises by 8am so that the campgrounds can prepare for the next camp that will be coming in later.

How much is camp this year?       

ANSWER:  $170 before July 15th or $190 after. Unless you are two or under, then you are free.  There is no increase in registration this year.

Online Registration for Camp will open April 15th and close on July 30th.  Anyone wishing to come to camp needs to register before the 30th of July.  After that, you can register at camp, but, we make no guarantees as to where you will be sleeping.  Click here to register now.

Do I have to pay online?

ANSWER:  NO, you do not have to pay online.

Where can I get a t-shirt?

ANSWER:  On this website!!  You are only a few clicks away! First, click on the REGISTER tab, then click CAMP PAYMENT.  Then you can select which t-shirts you'd like with quantity and sizes.  Simply add them to your cart and pay at checkout! Your t-shirts will be delivered and handed out as you check-in at camp on August 5th!  Please note, the last day to order t-shirts is July 15th.

Can I bring my baby?

ANSWER:  YES, this is family camp!   We hope you bring them all.  Children 2 and under do not have to pay. They are free. We have a saying, 'Free until Three'. Well, we just made that up, but, it does speak the truth. 

Who is directing camp this year?

ANSWER:  Chris Livingston and Silas Fitzsimmons.  Two directors? Yep!  They will both organize and lead the camp this year. It's gonna be a great experience that you won't want to miss out on. Be prepared for some major fun!

When Should we arrive?

ANSWER:  Camp entry begins at 3:00pm on Sunday August 5th. Check-in at the Dining Hall to complete your registration and receive your housing information. Check-in will be open from 3pm to 5pm.  If you are going to show up later than that, send us an email and let us know in advance if you would please. Drive safe and we'll see you there! 

Are There Camp Scholarships Available?

ANSWER:  There are a couple of Camperships given each year.  On our Documents page, there is a printable Campership Application.  All applications for Camperships must be received by July 14th, 2018.  Complete and send to:

Can I Make a donation to BHBC?

ANSWER:  Yes, donations are collected and used for Camperships.  These are camp scholarships that help families with financial hardships cover their camper's registration costs.  We encourage you to pray about this opportunity to help a child attend camp and grow closer to God.
